\nThe two-day workshop is based on a tool provided to participants (Strength Deployment Inventory \u2013 SDI), a versatile and easy-to-use system.
\nThe questionnaire is easy to navigate, and the responses will help participants position themselves on their \u201cmap\u201d of motivational values. There are no \u2018correct\u2019 or \u2018incorrect\u2019 answers; there are only two positions on a unique triangle that will show us what motivates us in normal situations and how our behaviour changes in difficult or \u2018conflict\u2019 situations. Role-playing games and team activities will help us experience different conflict management strategies that can be later applied in everyday life.

\nIf you have experienced, are experiencing, or anticipate encountering conflicts and want to be prepared to manage them, to know when they are necessary and when they can threaten your project, this workshop aims to answer your questions and provide you with optimal tools for handling conflict situations. After participating in the workshop:<\/p>\n

  • You will understand and be able to adapt to others\u2019 situations, emotions, and motivations.<\/li>\n
  • You will learn to establish a conducive working climate at both an individual and team level.<\/li>\n
  • You will develop skills for building productive relationships, effective communication, and influencing to improve relationships with partners and clients.<\/li>\n
  • You will be able to identify triggers for conflict situations.<\/li>\n
  • You will know which conflict management strategies to apply to achieve positive results.<\/li>\n
  • You will understand your team\u2019s dynamics, identify barriers to having a functional team, and know the measures to overcome these barriers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
    \nThere are no prerequisites for taking this course; however, it is advisable to consider the questions you may have regarding the challenges you face in managing your projects.

    • Relationship Awareness Theory, the foundation for our motivation identification tool<\/li>\n
    • The difference between behaviour and motivation. What triggers certain types of reactions.<\/li>\n
    • The SDI questionnaire. Positioning on the motivational values map. Similarities, differences.<\/li>\n
    • History of conflict management. Disadvantages and benefits.<\/li>\n
    • Behaviour in conflict situations.<\/li>\n
    • SDI questionnaire. The 13 conflict sequences.<\/li>\n
    • Reactions in conflict situations. Understanding situations, optimal responses in the project team.<\/li>\n
    • Project team dynamics.<\/li>\n
    • Conflict management strategies.<\/li>\n
    • Conceptual framework for conflict management. Practical examples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

      • Completing the Strengths Deployment Inventory questionnaire and individual positioning based on one\u2019s own motivational value system.<\/li>\n
      • Analysis of questionnaire results and discussion of relevance to project situations<\/li>\n
      • Role-playing games: The Story of Valerie, Facing the Titans, etc.<\/li>\n
      • Group and individual activities: Jack and Fran (in normal and conflict situations), exploring one\u2019s own conflict approach style, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

        • After successfully completing the course, participants will be awarded a participation diploma issued by Colors in Projects (Corporate Member of Agile Alliance).<\/li>\n
        • The course provides 14 hours of eligible direct contact that can be applied towards PMI exam enrolment.<\/li>\n
